Horspath & SODC Refuse Collection June 2009, New information - check what is allowed in your green recycling bin.
"Your Waste Collection is Changing, for Good" Households in Horspath and neighbouring villages are in the process of receiving a square fold-out leaflet from SODC entitled "Your waste collection is changing for the good...Starting 8 June 2009". This describes important changes to the way in which household waste and recycling will be collected. There will be changes to the frequency of collection, the means of collection (using wheelie bins), and the types of waste that can be collected. Horspath Parish Council suggests that you do not immediatley discard this leaflet into your recycling bin, but keep it for future reference. You can also download a copy of the leaflet here (PDF format 487 Kb). The leaflet indicates that these changes will come into force in Horspath on the 8th June 2009. For logistical reasons your new bins will be delivered from 30th March onwards, throughout April and May, however the existing system of waste collection will remain in operation during this time, so please do not make use of the new bins until the new service starts on June 8th. This table gives the delivery dates for all South Oxfordshire villages. In the leaflet SODC inform us that "There may be a change to your collection day". Horspath Parish Council has been informed that the collection day in Horspath will remain as Monday. However, for other South Oxfordshire villages there may be changes to the collection day, and you can check that here (PDF format 7 Kb). SODC realize that some properties might present problems for the use of the wheelie bins.
If you think that your property has some problem for the use of the wheelie bins, please contact the Horspath webmaster by email at webmaster@horspath.org.uk giving the following information:
SODC has also produced an information document which is posted on its website to try to answer any queries you may have (FAQs). Given the large size of the file, we have made it available here in two parts: For more information on the new service please visit www.southoxon.gov.uk, or call 03000 610610.
