Horspath Parish Council
Tuesday 3 October 2017 - Monthly meeting of the Parish Council in Horspath Village Hall at 8.00pm. The Minutes of the meeting are now available in PDF format. (The Minutes of the November meeting will be available here and on the Village Noticeboard within a few days of the December meeting.)
Horspath Stone Pit Trust website is now live.
Applications for grants in this quarter must be made by 1st December 2017.
Applications received after that date will be considered at the March 2018 Trustees' meeting.

Friends of Horspath - Horspath Hub @ the Old Chapel
If you would like to view or to hire Horspath Hub at the Old Chapel for an event or a regular activity let the Bookings Clerk know by emailing to community.hub@horspath.org.uk or by phoning 07591 933 964.
Join Friends of Horspath. We now need as many people in the village as possible to join Friends of Horspath, not just for the keeping of the Chapel, but to help fulfill its charitable aims - "To improve and advance the lives of those who live and work in the community of Horspath". Please download this "Friends of Horspath Membership form", fill it in and return it to community.hub@horspath.org.uk or to the address on the form.

News from Horspath Hub @ the Old Chapel and Friends of Horspath

All the usual classes are running, please contact Sally 873860 for further information or look at Horspath Village website for the full timetable or email horspathhub@gmail.com. These include Pilates, Yoga, Seated Yoga, Art Group, Table Tennis, Line Dancing, Creative Writing, Computer Confidence.
A new Evening Yoga Class starts on Monday 29th October at the Hub 6.30pm - 7.30pm - contact Jacqueline Rice 07706608063.
Wednesday 22nd November 2017 - Friends of Horspath AGM, 7.30pm at the Hub, all welcome: mulled wine will be served.
Friday 1st December - performance of Balkan and Line Dancing at 7.30pm at the Hub, Entrance £5.00.
Saturday 9th December - Friends of Horspath Christmas Market in Horspath Hub @ the Old Chapel, 9:00am - 1:00pm.
Don’t forget The Post Office is open every Friday 10.00am - 1.00pm, and Coffee, Tea and Cakes are served between 10.30am and 12.00 with a chance to have a chat. Now with Wi-Fi as an added extra.

Horspath Garden Club
We would like to welcome anybody interested in any aspect of gardening far and wide to our evenings. Please note we now meet on the second Wednesday of the month at the Horspath Hub at 7.30pm.
Saturday December 2nd 2017 - Christmas Decorations Naturally, we welcome back Jane Hamlet and Gill Clarke to guide us in making green Xmas decorations. If you would like to come along and have advice and expert help in making table decorations, wreaths and delightful extra Christmas trimmings. Wreaths cost £8.00 and shovels cost £1.00 Jane needs to know in advance if wreaths are required please let me, Sheila, know a week before 872793. The cost for the morning will be £4.00 + cost of the item being made. This will include refreshments. For further information contact Sheila Frankum 872793

Horspath Parish Council Meetings
The monthly meetings are held in the Village Hall at 8:00 pm on Tuesdays, usually the first Tuesday of each month. Members of the public are welcome. Meeting dates in 2017 are:

Senior Residents' Club
All meetings are held on a Wednesday in Horspath Hub.

St. Giles' Church
Wednesday 6th December - The Men of Magdalen Christmas Concert
7.30 pm at St Giles' Church - Modern and ancient music for the Christmas season. See the poster for details.
Thursday 14th December at 7:00pm - Christmas Carol singing on Horspath Village Green. See the poster for details.

Temple Cowley Health Centre
For Registered Patients only. The next visit by the Doctor will be on Wednesday 13th December 2017. You must make an appointment with the Health Centre on 777024.


Horspath Village Hall
Baby & Toddler Group - From September meets on Monday mornings in the Main Hall from 9:15 - 11:15 am, during school term times. Please contact Group Organiser, Katie Elsworth for more information.

Shotover Wildlife (info updated August 2015)
Conservation Work Days - Second Sunday of the month, 9:30am to 3pm. The meeting point varies each month, but is notified by email along with any other details of the day's work. Join us for as long or as short a time as you like and contribute to the important conservation work that SW is carrying out on Shotover. No dogs please, thank you.

Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration
On Saturday 11th June 2016 there was a flower festival in St Giles with stalls on the green followed by a special celebration service on Sunday 12th June at 11am in St Giles. With contributions from the school children, memories by our own 90 year olds, birthday cake, favourite hymns and much more.
